WBCSD report on energy efficiency in buildings

Released by The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), this report presents the facts and trends of energy use in buildings and puts forwards a preliminary, high-level approach to achieve zero net energy use for residential and commercial buildings.

About this report

The report, 'Energy Efficiency in Buildings: Business Realities and Opportunities' summarizes the first year's work of the Energy Efficiency in Buildings (EEB) project - a WBCSD project co-chaired by Lafarge and United Technologies Corporation. It presents a picture of the challenge of energy use in buildings and a preliminary, high-level approach to addressing that challenge. A breakthrough market research study was commissioned to measure the stakeholder perceptions of sustainable buildings around the world. This report presents the outcomes of the study along with findings from existing research and stakeholder dialogues during hearings, workshops, and forums.
