Summary

The facility management industry now turns over $12.4 billion a year and as such is big business in the Australian building sector. A lot of focus on sustainable buildings and developments has been placed upon the design and construction side of things; however, there is evermore focus and pressure being put upon facility managers to ensure building continue to deliver on their sustainability intentions.

To deliver sustainable outcomes, it is also increasingly important for facility managers upgrade their skill set to be able to deal with these 'smarter' + 'greener' buildings. Facility managers also need to apply their skills and sustainability knowledge into existing buildings, which comprise the majority of the Australian building stock.
