Your Building is a partnership project of the Cooperative Research Centre for Construction Innovation, the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, and the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council, the peak body of industry and research organisations concerned with sustainability of the built environment.
The Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Construction Innovation is the national research, development and implementation centre focussed on the needs of the property, design, construction and facility management sectors. Since 2001, this unincorporated joint venture under the Australian Government's Cooperative Research Programme has been developing key technologies, tools and management systems to improve the effectiveness of the construction industry.
The Australian Government Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts develops and implements national policy, programs and legislation to protect and conserve Australia's environment and heritage and to promote Australian arts and culture. Reducing emissions through energy efficiency is a major cost-effective pathway for industries and the community. By working with the building industry, the Australian Government is ensuring a strong future for sustainable buildings in Australia.
The Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC) is the peak body of key organisations committed to a sustainable built environment in Australia. ASBEC members consists of industry and professional associations, non-government organisations and government observers who are involved in the planning, design, delivery and operation of our built environment, and are concerned with the social and environmental impacts of this sector. ASBEC provides a forum for diverse groups involved in the built environment to gather, find common ground and intelligently discuss contentious issues.
