GPT’s office in the MLC Centre, in the Sydney CBD, has received a 6 Star Green Star office interiors rating.
GPT’s MLC Centre fit out is carbon neutral. It is the first office to receive the 6 Star rating where its building has not undergone a complete refurbishment.
To achieve the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) rating, GPT implemented:

90 percent less paper stored

75 percent less paper used

50 percent less energy used

Lighting energy consumption is down by 70 percent

Fresh air intake increased by 25 percent with the addition of external louvres into the façade

500 plants were added

a combination of 320 lockers and 272 desks. The desks have an occupancy of 77 percent

100 percent of pre-existing equipment and fit-out was either recycled or re-used

Staff moved from being spread across five floors to being consolidated across three floors
The MLC Centre has a 5 Star NABERS base building rating.
