Delegates attending the Property Council of Australia's congress summit were treated to a preview of the Songdo International Business District (IBD) in Korea. A city dubbed "the most expensive private real estate development in history".

Songdo is located just 32km from Seoul and a three and a half hour trip to a third of the world's population in China.

Described as smart, connected and green, the futuristic city is considered one of the most ambitious urban projects of its kind and is specifically designed to be North Asia's trading port of the 21st century.

With up to fifty buildings either complete or approved for development, the completion date for this project is 2016.

Gale International's Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Tom Murcott spoke about project in detail via video conference at Congress 2010.
